How Snapchat Planets Work

Snapchat+ subscribers see a Best Friends Solar System on their friends’ profiles. Each of your top 8 friends is assigned a planet — the closer to the Sun, the closer the friendship.

Mercury (🌑) is the #1 best friend, followed by Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune (#8). The planet assigned is based on how much you interact with each other through snaps, chats, and stories.

Snapchat keeps its exact algorithm private. This calculator estimates your planet based on your relative snap volume, interaction score, and score ratio — giving you a close approximation of your real planet.
